Responsible
for providing leadership and functional management for projects
assigned to the Medical Affairs and Publications Services (MAPS)
group; budget development, proposal development and defense, and
quality of deliverables following appropriate standard operational
procedures
|

| Responsibilities: |
 |
Work
with Client Services and Scientific Services staff to provide
strategic and scientific oversight of projects
|
 |
Review
material generated by writing staff to ensure scientific integrity
and
accuracy
|
 |
Monitor
medical literature to keep current of emerging developments within
pharmaceutical/healthcare industry
|
 |
Collaborate
with other departments within RPS (eg, Strategic Development, Client
Services, and Staffing) to identify, investigate, and cultivate new
business opportunities
|
 |
Interview
and select team members for projects according to Sponsor
needs
|
 |
Provide
management support to non-corporate MAPS
(writing/editorial/scientific) staff
|
 |
Review
and approve timesheets and expense reports, monitor utilization for
assigned employees
|
 |
Evaluate
employee performance through Sponsor feedback and established
performance metrics
|
 |
Assist
with development of, ongoing improvement to, and compliance with
departmental operational procedures and initiatives to ensure
projects/activities within RPS and for sponsors are executed in a
compliant manner to minimize or eliminate regulatory
jeopardy
|
 |
Resolve
emergent
issues
| |
| Qualifications: |
| Advanced
degree preferred (MD, PhD, PharmD)>8 years of pharmaceutical
industry experience. Minimum
10+ years developing, writing, producing, and managing
medical/scientific/clinical documents and communications experience
within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical communications, or
publishing industry. Prior
supervisory experience. Willing
to travel to do presentations and proposal
defense.
